Of course grass needs mowing most during the developing season, yet when is that? For warm-season grasses, this is the late spring; cool-season grasses mow in the spring and fall, all things being equal. Leave the grass clippings on the yard – where they’re not wet and hefty – to prepare your yard. These clippings can contain as much as 3 to 4 percent nitrogen and 2.5 to 3.5 percent potassium.
The pace of grass development and wanted stature of your yard decide how regularly you need to cut. Regularly, cutting once per week during the developing season should do the trick to keep your grass healthy. The rest of the time, you can reduce the amount if mow down to every two weeks or in winter once a month.
